Hi, and welcome to the Midtown Buzz Events Calendar. We continue to expand our events listings and you'll continue to see this grow & evolve over time. We're making progress on most of our sections, but they still need a considerable amount of work. Thanks for your interest & patience.
AUGUST is the last full month of summer in Manhattan & northern hemisphere. This month look for the Mostly Mozart concert series, the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, free films & concers in the parks, farmers markets & street fairs. Guggenheim Art Museum - Upper East Side Manhattan NYC
Thru Sept 1: Italian Futurism 1909 - 1949 & Thannhauser Collection
First time exhibit in U.S. of Italian Futurism with 300 works beginning w/ 1909 manifesto and ending after WWII.
Ongoing: Thannhausers
Two generations of Thannhausers, who opened the Modern Gallerie in Munich in 1909, and a second in 1917 in Lucerne, promoted the arts in a manner comparable to Guggenheim. Due to the Nazi purge of 'degenerate art' they closed in 1937 and left for Paris, eventually settling in NYC.
July - Spring 2015: Kandinsky Before Abstractionism 1901 - 1911
New exhibit about Kandinsky's early work in print making and conceptualization.

August 3: Running, Swimming & Biking Along Hudson River
Sunday morning at 5.50 am the NYC Triathalon will commence along the Hudson River Park at 99th Street [sports]. The NYC Triathalon will include running, biking and swimming and the landmars are 99th Street, 79th Street and 72nd Street along the Hudson River in Riverside Park. There will be an after party from 7.30 am to 1 pm at the dead end road in Central Park.

The first weekend of NYC Summer Streets begins Saturday, with 7 miles of road closures from 7 am - 1 pm from Park Avenue on the Upper East Side of NYC down onto Lafayette Street to the Brooklyn Bridge [search Manhattan street fairs].

Fringe Theater Festival - Village NYC

Begins at various times at various venues all over the East, West & Middle Village in NYC.
