We update parades and festival events as we approach the event date. Pay attention to the dates / year as only asterisked events have been updated to 2026.

The parades we feature not only include the majors but also the minors and the new ones as we become aware of them. We expect to add about 10 to 20 new parades or events to each month as the year progresses. As the year unfolds, you will be able to scroll down to see for yourself.

  • * NYC _ Friday, Saturday & Sunday, May 1, 2 & 3, 2026 at various locations & times but generally from 10 am to 5 pm - Janes Walk Weekend - at 200 locations in all five boroughs. Various art, culture, history, advocacy and architectural tours throughout all five boros of NYC. Free. They describe the event as follows, " ... MAS staff organize a fleet of volunteer walk leaders, to create 200+ FREE, in-person, virtual, and on-demand walks with over 10,000 participants ...   • * Village _ Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 11.30 am Assembly / 12 noon kick off / 2pm to 6 pm - 54th Annual Cannabis Parade & After Party - the parade meets under the Arch in Washington Square and then at 12 noon, marches north up 5th Avenue to Union Square Park at 14th Street. After the parade until 6 pm there's a rally and concert in Union Square. Prior to legalization there was an after party, after the after party, also in Union Square Park which lasted until about 11 pm.
  • * Downtown _ Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 12 noon to 10 pm - Stone Street Cinco de Mayo Festival - in the Stone Street Historic District along Stone Street between William Street and Coentis Alley in the Financial District in Manhattan NYC. This is an food, beverage and entertainment street fair - not a traditional merchandise street fair. Free to enter. For details see - https://www.stonestreetnyc.com
  • * NYC - Sunday, May 3, 2026 waves begin at 7.30, 8.30, 9.15, 9.50 and 10.30 am & officially over between 4 and 6 pm - 5 Boro Bike Ride. Assembly begins along Broaday, south of Canal Street down to Battery Park in Manhattan, depending on the cyclist wave folks are in. The course is 40 miles long, and most of the 32,000 cyclists finish in under 5 hours. It ends at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, where there's a finishing party that runs from 10 am to 5.30 pm.   • * UES _ Monday, May 4, 2026 from 6 to 9 pm - Met Gala - at the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 5th Avenue & 82nd Street on the UES of Manhattan. This year the theme is Costume Art, focusing on how history influences fashion and art. This is a billionaire, celebrity, high society fashion event that raises funds to support the Metropolitan Museum. By invitation only and the ticket price in 2025 was $50,000 per person. The gala event coincides with the opening of the Conde M. Nast galleries. Conde Nast publishes Vogue, GQ, the New Yorker and Vanity Fair.   • * Midtown / UES _ Sunday, June 14, 2026 beginning at 12 noon - 69th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade returns. It will kick off at 5th Avenue at 43rd Street marching north to 79th Street on the UES.
